GAPTEQ software functions

In this article, you can read about the range of functions provided by the individual GAPTEQ software.

Note! GAPTEQ is a low-code platform with which the customer can create web forms with visual application design tools and other graphical modeling methods without (only if required with) classic test-based programming language.

GAPTEQ-Designer

1. Building web applications

The GAPTEQ Designer serves as a tool or development environment for building web forms (HTML5 forms). It allows the customer to design masks and forms (applications) using “drag and drop”. In the GAPTEQ Designer, the customer's individual projects are referred to as repositories. The customer is free to choose where to install the GAPTEQ Designer.

The range of functions includes various components, which can be categorized as follows:

  • Tables & forms (for displaying & editing data)
  • Filter & selection (search, filter and sort functions)
  • Data visualization (e.g. via different types of charts)
  • Design & layout (enable a CD-compliant design of the application)
  • Navigation (e.g. buttons or ready-made menu templates for navigating through the application)
  • Input & Integration (for loading external or local content)
  • Data Work (e.g. for designing flexible workflows)

    2. User administration

You also control the user administration via the GAPTEQ Designer. Depending on the agreed license type, you can perform various administrative tasks for your user accounts.

Tip! In the article Creating & managing user accounts, you can read how to manage your user accounts (e.g. create, deactivate or delete) or reduce or increase the number of user accounts, depending on the agreed license type.

3. Server configuration

Various server configurations can be made using the GAPTEQ Designer. These include:

  • Designing the standard pages (login / logout page - you can read more about this in the article Custom branding of standard pages)
  • Backup & restore settings (read more in the article Backup/Restore)
  • External authentication methods (e.g. Azure Active Directory - read more in the article Azure AD (Cloud) or Azure AD (onPremise))
  • Create & edit database connections (more on this in the article Set up database connection or Configure database connection)
  • Manage internal users or directory users (via the Microsoft Active Directory directory service) (more on this in the article Active Directory)

GAPTEQ Cloud instance

  • As part of the GAPTEQ BUSINESS version (Cloud), you can access the GAPTEQ Cloud instance using the GAPTEQ Designer.

Note! The GAPTEQ Cloud instance acts as a central repository for the GAPTEQ applications created by the customer & enables the applications to be made available on the web. The provision is carried out by us, but on the basis of Microsoft Azure.

  • If required, we provide the customer with a Microsoft Azure SQL database in various forms, which is also part of the GAPTEQ cloud instance if required. You can find out more on the website.
