Once you have created your first repository, you can directly set up the connection to your own MS SQL, MySQL or PostgreSQL database or continue working with our sample data.
1. Set up and establish database connection
- First open the GAPTEQ Designer and click on the “Connections” area at the bottom left of the sidebar and then on the icon / symbol for a “new database connection”.
- A “Database connection” wizard will appear. Now you need the access data for your database.
- In this example, you now need the access data of an SQL user of the database in order to connect to the MS SQL Server.
- Server name: your server name
- Authentication: Please select the authentication method “SQL Server Authentication”
- User name: Access data for your database
- Password: Access data for your database
- Database: Select the desired database
- Confirm the details by clicking the “Next” button and then enter a name (of your choice) for the new database connection.
- Click on “Finish” to complete the creation of the database connection.
2. Configure database connection
Many settings and further configuration options are now available in the newly created database connection.
You can find detailed information on this in the article Configuring the database connection.
